ABOUT
Archie McKenzie (they/them) is a comic artist and printmaker based in Cardiff. Their work explores the play and joy to be found in the turbulence of living. Using bright colours and playful imagery, Archie aims to tell unseen stories. Taking themes such as struggles with identity, disability and complex relationships of all kinds, they create silly, expressive, and earnest narratives. In their non-fiction work, they collaborate with experts to explore non-fiction themes of nature, biology, health and wellbeing. At the heart of their work is one continuous question: how can we celebrate being alive?
In their events management and activism, they organised Plymouth Trans Pride 2022 and 2023, had multiple roles in the Student Union at Arts University Plymouth, and was a key member of Ink Snails Collective, a queer and neurodivergent art collective in Plymouth.
